Anyone know how to sketch a skylight?

and I need a sketch of the framing I will be doing for the hole in the roof. Anyone know how to do this or have an example I can work off?

Should be similar to framing a window in a wall; header, footer, extra side supports, etc.
I am familiar with the installation process, but I am not too clear on what exactly my sketch should look like...

I am not a building inspector, but I did use to submit blueprints for approval by the city. I know how to 'read' blueprints, and I have extensive background in building construction.

Basically it does not have to be fancy or anything. It just needs to demonstrate the structural potential and the flashing. A section plan would be the best. Most skylights that you purchase have sections and diagrams of the installation that you can submit.

They just want to make sure you aren't going to cut any support beams in your house, or cause something that could damage or affect the structural stability if the house.

Here are some examples:
Example 1
Example 2
Example 3

I hope this helps!
