So I have this printer sitting on our network, I've given it an IP and can ping it fine. I need to know how to install in on the client computers in the workgroup, I've tried using the Add Printer Wizard but that doesn't work. Anyone know if Kyocera has any software for this and if so what it is called? I've emailed Kyocera but no response as of yet...

According to Voodoo:

" Here's what you do:
Run the add printer wizard
Select "Local Printer Attached to this computer"
- uncheck the "automatically detect and install....." box
Select "Create a new port"
- in the type of port box, select "Standard TCP/IP port"
A new box will pop up and you will type in the IP of the printer in there
Then you should be prompted to select the printer from a big list. The HP Laserjets should be in there.
Then you type in the name you want the printer to be, if you want it shared, test page, blah blah blah"

I tried this out for a HP printer and it worked.

Sorry, I actually got it figured out yesterday and forgot to post back. I also left out some important info.

We have a UNIX server on the network that will be printing to this printer as well and lpd needed to be configured on it. On the clients, Print Services for Unix needed to be installed from Add / Remove Programs. Then when you run the add printer wizard, you need to choose "create a new port" and create an lpr port, then you put in the Server IP address and queue name. Kind of a pain in the butt, but it works fine now. Should be fun doing this on all of the clients. :frown:
