Anyone know how to program in VHDL?

Is anyone in this forum proficent in VHDL code? If you are, can you answer help me figure out what is going on in this sample 2 bit multiplier code I found on the 'net? I am new to VHDL code (although I'm proficent in other languages C++, java, etc.) and need a little help
So, if you do know VHDL, please reply back and I'll present the code I need some help w/ diagonsing.
