I've seen it done before in magazines and what not, of a game such as Unreal or Quake, split between 3 monitors to give it a surround vision type experience. Does anyone know how to do that? Ive tried using a dual display video card such as my Radeon 9700, and also tried using two difference video cards one AGP the other PCI.. but, I can't seem to get it to work, or even how to start to get it to work.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

Hah.

You need special hardware and a compatible game to pull that off. You've probably seen the Matrox Parhelia 512 in those "surround" articles - and it's got the hardware necessary. Software support is limited to only a few games at the moment (Q3A engine, UT2K3, NWN) but it's growing.

You can do it with nVidia's nView software, but again, software is limited. I don't know firsthand about the ATI side of things.

/me wants a Parhelia 512 w/256MB and 3x LCDs

2 monitors is not really ideal IMHO. 3 I can understand 1 middle 2 peripheral, but with 2 your centre of vision is split by minimum 2" of screen side which cant be good. the best way to describe it is for you to read a line of letters as below focus on the central letter and then see how many you can read without moving you stare.

I can read whilst focusing directly on the Z upto around the T either side, whilst this isnt overly representative of gaming hopefully you can understand my point
