Anyone know how to get rid of the dual boot OS loader screen at startup?

I was dualbooting 98 and 2k on two hard drives, I messed up 2k when I was tinkering with it, so I decided to format the secondary drive 2k resided on (D🙂 I went to install it again, realized now there are 2 choices for Windows 2000 and one for Windows 98 in the boot menu, even though I don't have 2k loaded at all. How can I get rid of that menu so that I start fresh? Thanks!
 
I forget where exactly, (not at my comp) but go to the place where they have START UP and RECOVERY. I think it's under the control panel, under system... not sure though.

You can edit your Boot.ini from there, or set the time to zero.
 
go to system properties

go to the advanced tab

go to start up and recovery

uncheck time to display list of operating systems



BTW this is in the FAQ.
 
He doesn't have Win2k anymore you guys... You are telling him how he would do it if he removed 98 and kept 2k. It is the other way around. I can't help you, but I don't think either of those resolutions will help you. Just wanted to clarify.
 
Good thing I backed up boot.ini. I edited it to get rid of the Win2000 Professional references and my system wouldn't boot afterwords. The problem is that I had Win2k on a second HD, I hosed the OS while messing around with it, no big deal so I formatted, afterwords I ran the Win2k setup disc and it tried to load over my existing Win98se setup on my primary drive which I aborted because that isn't what I wanted to do. Now I have all these damn menu's popping up at bootup asking if I want to continue with Win2k setup or not. When I click no it reboots. The only way I can boot now is to hit F8 and it gives a bunch of choices and I pick the Win98 choice. I'd like to just get all the Win2k installation files and other crap off my primary C: drive and start fresh and reload Win2k from scratch.
 
In Windows 98 make a startup disk (Control Panel >> Add/Remove Programs >> Startup Disk) and boot from that disk.

Once at A:\>_ prompt, type:

fdisk /mbr <enter>
sys c: <enter>

Take a floppy disk out and reboot. That's it 🙂

Thing is I'm trying to load 2k onto my second HD which is the d drive. Plus I don't have a damn floppy drive! I really need to get a floppy, my old one conked out, and there's been plenty of occasions where I needed it. I wonder if I can make a bootable CDR?
