My device is rooted, I checked with root checker.
So far I have not gotten either app to work.
They wont mount an NTFS micro SD card in the directories they say they do even though they have admin privileges.
Does any one know of a way to get these to work or know of some alternatives I can try, it must support NTFS.
Thank you.

File system support is usually in the kernel. If your stock ROM doesn't support it, go check out custom kernel for your phone.

It's not a phone. I'm using a Galaxy 8.4 Pro with KitKat, it is rooted, I have verified it.
FAT32 sd cards work fine in it but I can't seem to find an app that will mount NTFS(which I need for TrueCrypt containers via EDS Pro).
Even without encryption it would be nice to be able to watch my movies which are way bigger than the FAT32 file system supports.

Come on man, my post is right up there. It's not about being rooted, it's about your kernel not supporting it. You need to find a kernel that supports mounting NTFS.

I searched for 'tab pro 8.4 ntfs' and the first hit is this link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2667316

You can probably find something useful there. I skimmed through it and it looks like using a Total Commander will give you at least a read only access to NTFS. If I were you I would continue your research based on keywords you find in that thread. Good luck.

I hate to say this, but you are doing it wrong. Use exFAT or ext4, both are better for solid state media so they are better supported with mobile devices. I know for a fact Galaxy stuff ships with exFAT support.

If you really need NTFS you are looking at more than rooting. You need to be able to flash a custom kernel with that support.

I agree with this, too. All my flash media are now all on exFAT already. It's widely supported and have no problem with large size files.

Having said that, he did say he need NTFS for some specific usage, so OP maybe you should investigate if your app works on exFAT (and if not, find something else that does).
