Anyone know how to get a LIVE operator on the phone from circuitcity.com?

and all I get is some press 1 for ps3/wii information, or press 2 for others.

then i press 1 because it's about a current order.

then the phone just hangs ...

any idea?

Try mashing a ton of buttons (It works a lot of the time)

I assume you are calling about a ps3 order? I would guess tons of others are too, so their phone system is going nuts

When I worked at OfficeMax and we had to pricematch something we just called the number, waited for whatever message to start playing then hit 0, then it went straight to a real person.

usually if you keep mashing buttons that are not recognized one of two things will happen:

- the machine will hang up on you, or

- the machine will say, "Hold on, let me transfer you to..."

yah I got one from them when they just did the 20gb preorder about 30 mins ago, but I want to upgrade shipping.

Congrats on PS3. I didn't even know they were doing another order this morning. Try the button mashing, or just pick a whole other option ("I want to buy music CD's) and see if they can help

I just called because I am curious. I hit 2, it rang, Computer talked (and in spanish) and I hit 2 for a live person and it worked

Go to some random dept, something that wont be too busy. Then that live operator will transfer you to the correct dept, usually giving you priority over other callers who are waiting.

before knowing about gethuman above, i once had to get in touch with a tech person at charter internet (they get things done faster than going through customer service playbook). so the first time around, i go through all the button pressing for trying to get support (there's "buy new service" "upgrade existing" "service and support"). "Service and support" takes it sweet time to connect me to....a robot. it takes me through the ole playbook...answer yes answer no answer yes answer no. on and on and on (pressing anything but 1 or 2 would give me "i'm sorry, i didn't understand your answer"). So i get to the end of robot's playbook and nothing resolved, of course, and it said it would transfer me to a live tech support person. After 8 minutes, i hung up (this is in addition to the previous 14 minutes with the robot).

So, I call back and go right to "set up new service". This was answered almost immediately by a live person. As soon as she was done saying "how may i help you..." i said "yeah, can you just transfer me to tech support?". She chortled and transferred me :D
