Anyone know how to dismantle a Gamecube?

I need to get to the gamepad ports in my gamecube (they need to be cleaned). I have tried to clean them from the outside with some tools, but can't get to them well enough. I figure if I can dismantle the box, I can get to the port connections easier. The box seems to be constructed with some sort of locking caps, so I'm not sure the best way to pop them off. Has anyone opened it?

It's not all that expensive...you maybe could justify the expensive by using it around the house too?

Did you read the first post? I was hoping to be able to access the controller ports easier, perhaps dismantle them. I think one of my kids stuck a green crayon in three of them and now the first port will only recongnize the control for a few seconds. I have tried to clean the port and have gotten some of the green stuff off, but not all. If someone has a better solution I am all ears.
