Anyone know how to create your own voice communication server?

Ive been really wondering how to create your own server for ventrilo on your computer, I found on their website where you can download the program to make a server and etc., it worked for me and the server works fine, but it only has 8 slots, and I was wondering if there is someway to use a different program and get atleast 25-30 slots. The only way to get more than 8 slots is to own a business that puts up servers for rent. So can anyone help me here?

Mumble.

Murmur is the server component. Just remember that you'll have to forward whatever port you set (default is 64738) if you want to run the server (and if you're behind a router).

+1 to each of the two above me. IMO, Mumble sounds better than vent anyway (but thats obviously subjective)
