Depending on the density of the substance, its mass will vary.

You have to consider that one is a unit of mass, and the other is a unit of volume. They are not interchangeable.

Umm yea, first you would need to know the weight/something of the stuff you have in fl. oz. . Or something like that.

1 fl. oz. of water would be 29.57 cubic centimeters. For water, this means 1 fl. oz. has a mass of 29.57 grams. For other substances, it will of course be different.
