Anyone know how to convert a drive from FAT to NTFS in windows nt 4.0?

Anyone know how to convert it without having to run setup over gain? I forgot to tell it to convert during setup.

Edit: Used command convert c: /fs:ntfs

Conversion failed not enough disk space i've got 1.5gig free.

is it not convert <drive> FS:ntfs
its a long time since I used Nt4
try opening the command prompt type &quot;convert /?&quot; and see what happens

You've used the only way I know of besides getting PowerQuest's Partition Magic.

How big is your HD? Maybe clean some stuff up and then try it again.

(Uninstall some games, then try it)

I've got 500 megs used up on my hard drive. It's a two gig.

Something isn't right.....I've converted the same size drives with even less free space.
I don't know how to fix your problem. I would hate to tell you to spend money to buy Partition Magic and have it not work.

You might be better running setup again or reformatting.

I finally got back home got out my partion magic disks and the option &quot;FAT to NTFS&quot; is grayed out and I can't click it. How come it won't convert to NTFS I really don't want to format since I had to reinstall the time consuming NT setup twice yesterday and I finished it off this morning and I wasn't all awake and I forgot to click convert
