Anyone know how to cause the red ring of death on Xbox360?

Hello everybody,
I have an Xbox 360 that stopped working, and the problem is a strange one. The 360 turns on and if a disc is in it will spin and presumably start playing, and I can even get the controller indicator lights to illuminate by using a controller. However there is no signal going to the TV, video or audio, and I have tried the cable with another 360 and it worked fine and I have tried another known good cable with this 360 and it doesn't work so it isn't the cable. I have tried component and composite both with the TV/HDTV switch in either position.

Potential solution: Somehow get the 360 to fail on yet another level so it displays the red ring of death as Microsoft recently announced they would repair this error for free for up to 3 years on 360 consoles. Anyone know how to cause this failure without voiding the warranty? This error represents a bunch of different failures so there are probably some various.

As for the ethics of doing something like this, I don't feel it is wrong at all, as MS is totally responsible for putting out a $400 piece of junk. The console was never moved after set up and the console and PSU block had a fan on them, it wasn't even played all that much, probably around 10-15 hours a month. If anyone knows how to get a 360 to fail in a fashion that gets the ring of death I would appreciate any replies, thanks!

I'm sure that doing anything to 'cause' a RRoD would void the warranty. You're looking for a way they can't tell apart from normal wear and tear failure.
(BTW, my foolish friend scratched the lens on the 360, so now we have a $400 xbox live adapter :-\)

Exactly, and my only idea so far is to wrap it in some towels and let it get really hot, and that isn't even my idea!

Edit: wow I'm a golden member 1k posts!

I agree with frankqfrank, wrap it in towels and let it run for a while or just block the exhaust. Something along those lines. I believe most problems come from overheating so this should get you a red ring in no time.
