the sign in the HD by my house said $75.00 for three hours...

:)

edit: from their website:

Our easy-driving automatic, air-conditioned rental trucks are ideal for taking home items that won't fit in your vehicle, including lawn equipment, garden materials, building materials, barbecue grills, irrigation and drainage materials, lumber, furniture, cabinets and water heaters.

Our trucks allow you to get large items home safely, without damaging your vehicle with an oversized load.

It's easy to rent a truck. There are no insurance charges, no mileage charges and no refueling charges. Plus, the first hour is 75 minutes long ? in most cases, more than enough time to get home and back. And charges don't begin until your purchase is loaded.

To rent a truck, just stop by at the Special Services Desk or Tool Rental Center before you shop and present your driver's license, a valid vehicle insurance card and a major credit card or Home Depot credit card. After making your purchases, simply sign the rental agreement and you'll be ready to go.

Call your local store for more information.

Yup it's 20 per hour

Yep locally it's $19.95 per hour.

U-Haul is a better deal $19.95 for 24 hours plus mileage and yes they carry pick-ups.

It's a better deal if you need it for longer than a couple hours or so, because U-Haul is $19.95 plus mileage plus gas. The trucks from Home Depot have no mileage restrictions, and you don't have to fill it up either. Just use it and return it. U-Haul's mileage can definitely add up if you have much driving to do.

Also, you can rent a truck from Home Depot without buying anything else there if you so desire. I used one of their trucks to return a large, heavy piece of exercise equipment that was defective to Costco, and it worked wonderfully for that purpose.

True but I think 1 hour is way to little.

They'd have a lot more rentals if it were a more reasonable 2, or even 3 hours.

I thought it was $19.95 for 75 minutes or so. Plus, HD and Lowes prefer that you use the truck for hauling home goods that you've purchased at their stores. They don't desire to rent the truck for people using it for other purposes, because the truck is not intended for such.

Oh, and be careful with the HD truck rentals. Apparently, if your insurer is Geico, you won't have any coverage on the rental.

That's lame. I have my insurance with Progressive, and I called them from the rental counter and handed the phone to the cashier to verify my insurance coverage, and they had no problem with it.
