441. Enough to keep it in syndication for ever, and ever, and ever, and to ensure that none of the people with an ownership stake in the show or their family members will ever need to work again.

The movie wasnt bad, however.

There's no question the show has seen better days, but on balance I still think it's one of the funniest shows on television (not that it has much competition in this era of nonstop reality TV).

Correct.
As an avid fan, there have been some very good episodes scattered amongst the last few years.

The good news is a former animator (from the golden years of the show) is going to have a kid in my kid's class next year. Guess who my new best friend is?

Not something many people know but without Homer Simpson and Al Bundy the Fox network would not exist.
When they started out Fox was only on air for one hour at night, the rest of the time the channel showed whatever the local stations wanted. They showed two shows, The Simpsons, and Married with Children. If those shows had bombed they would have failed as a network. I like to think of it as the network that Homer and Al built :)
