hey guys, my psu is dying. its an antec smart power 450W (SP-450). i just sent in a trouble ticket to their customer service but i dont expect to hear back from them til atleast tomorrow sometime.

does anyone here own an antec psu and know how long the warranty is on this product?

if it makes a difference, it was included with the case that i bought (Antec Sonata II)

well i just decided to double check all of this before i do anything. i hooked up my psu that i thought was dying to my computer, and it doesnt seem to be crashing like it was before. i cleaned it out for about 15 mins before i put it in.

i am using a different mobo, cpu and video card now though. the mobo is now a 20 pin instead of a 24 pin, and the cpu is an intel p4 3.0ghz, while my old one was an amd 64 3000+ venice. the video card is a visiontek x1550 instead of a sapphire radeon x800gto2.

could it be that my system before needed more than a 450W psu? im currently using the 450W with this mobo cpu and video card, which was running on a 400W before.

in my sig is the specs of my computer that kept shutting itself off. now i have the same cpu, but the mobo, video card and cpu are different.

could my psu be fine and just wasnt enough to power my rig?
