for me i didn't have to do anything, it was just there for me to browse to and use.

Means you have it on manually update songs and playlists on iPod.
Doh, forgot the next sentence. It also means your iPod should be showing up in my computer right now. Just make sure your iPod is plugged in while you're looking at these settings in iTunes.
