Anyone know how I can get some tickets to CES?

Since I'm local I was hoping there would be an easy way to get tickets or to find a way in... any ideas?

Do you work in the industry?

Not anymore. :( Are they pretty strict on that? I could probably get some credentials from my former place of work though...

I'm not aware that they require that you work in the inductry... isn't that the other big Vegas expo?

Go to their Web site (turn down your speakers first). Web registration is closed, but they say you can register onsite. One of the girls says that a group of her friends are going this weekend. Most of them are certainly not engineers (just dating nerds).

Hotel prices for Friday and Saturday nights are absurd.

Yes you do, you'll need a business card from your company (but it's not like they verify what your company does).

Recoculous! It embarasses me that my company even issued me business cards! Even more aggravating was the part where they wouldn't put bunny killer or warmonger as my job title.

Why not ask everyone who walks through the door to solve Schrodinger's Equation instead? :D

This year looks like it's going to be FANTASTIC. New Mactel notebooks, cellphones with GBs of storage, hopefully HD-DVDs or Bluray players, PS3, 1080p TVs, etc.

Mactel notebooks will not be at CES, but at Macworld on the 10th.
