Anyone know how I can disable the RAID controller?

Anyone know how I can disable the RAID controller on my MSI Turbo k7t.

Should it be in the BIOS or is there a jumper on the motherboard.

MSI tech support puts me on hold forever :|

My Abit boards do not have a disabling facility, and I doubt any MB mfg. would bother to put one in. You always have the option of disabling it in the OS device manager. If you haven't installed the drivers it would appear as a mass storage device with a question mark. Whether drivers are installed or not, or whether disabled in device manager or not, shouldn't, I think, have any effect on performance or anything else.

There are 2 jumpers, One of them set the raid controler to ATA or raid, It is below the raid block/ribbon connectors tword the PCI slots.
the other that dissables the raid controller completely is hiding behind one of the ends of the PCI slots.

I like the idea that the raid can be changed to ATA and able to add 4 more drives.

Is there any where on the web that will show me the exact location of these jumpers?

I have a MSI K7T266-RAID, it lets me disable the onboard promise raid controller in the BIOS (under "integrated peripherals")
