You have both testicles removed? My buddy had one removed........now he just called an is going in for emergency surgery to have the other one removed. Bad infection. I think he is worried that he will never be able to have sex again, anyone know for sure? His name is Dave...he is the most loving, kindest, giving man I have ever met.....if you would pray for him we would appreciate it.

I think might not get turned on by women anymore. He'd be like a eunuch. I'm sorry to hear that and I wish the best for your friend.

Assuming that he'll be on testosterone shots from here on out, the answer is yes.

EDIT- he's having the body's natural source of testosterone removed, but he'll be recieving injections (or pills, or a patch or something) from here on out in order to maintain all of the male secondary characteristics that testosterone is responsible for. As long as he's got hormones flowing through his veins (regardless of the source) he'll be male in all ways (not an Eunich as one of our less-imformed members implied). He may have some funky mood swings and other side effects until they get a proper dosage figured out for him, but that should be about as bad as it gets.

he can have sex, the erection itself isn't controlled by the testicles but rather the muscles near the base of the member that constrict, cease blood flow and cause the erection. the big thing he will notice is a huge hormone swing and that he won't be able to have babies. :( I hope he is ok

I imagine that it would be more of an emotional problem than a physical problem.

my friend had testicular cancer and had both nuts taken out. He has sex and enjoys it much. He and his gf go unprotected cause they know she cant get pregnent (and doesnt mind not having kids). I do think he has to take some testostrone shots.

The hardest thing for his gf is to keep him in line. Now that he doesnt have "sperm" he can technically cheat and not get any girl pregnent, but luckily he hasnt he loves his gf. She is such a sweetheart.

So to answer your question - yes

I thought semen (not sperm) was produced elsewhere in the body? Men who have vasectomies are able to ejaculate, so assuming he goes on hormone therapy, why would it matter if the testes were completely removed.

He would still be able to ejaculate. Its just that his semen would no longer contain any sperm.

when you ejaculate the sperm is shot out with something called Prostate specific antigen which acts as a buffer in the acidic environment of the vagina and uterus. so when you ejaculate sans testicles you are just releasing the PSA which is of course produced from the prostate.

Correct. My apologies. Sperm cannot be developed, but the liquid coating over the sperm, which is manufactured inside the body just above the testacles as opposed to in the sac itself along with the sperm, is still manufactured and can be ejected at the point of orgasm. But it will tend to be clear and severely lacking in quantity.

Semen is a mixture of prostatic fluid and sperm. When one who has had a vasectomy ejaculates, the only ejaculate the prostatic fluid (mostly glucose and water).

yea, but more or less they are to make the scrotum appear natural. i think there are some that have testosterone storage so that they release on a timed basis so shots and pills aren't necessary

QUICK! Call him or the hospital and tell them to either freeze the testicle or extract the sperm and bank it. Just because he is losing his nuts doesn't mean he won't have children in the future... and be inseminated artificially later!

Oh man... This thread makes me really worried. About my own business. Of course, I feel sorry for the guy, but heck... now I'm so afraid anything similar can happen to me... I didn't even know that some infection could lead to this... Never heard about it. Aaarhhhh.... :Q
