I'm looking to reuse the plastic to make stuff. Since everyone usually throws away their gift cards, there must be somewhere collecting them?

I always tell the store to keep them... I force myself to assume they are recycled or reused but I am sure they just end up in a landfill somewhere...

Are you going to 'make' fake gift cards?

I have a huge stack of 'demo' credit cards that are mailed with pre-approved CC offers, as well as old frequent traveller cards. They are really useful for cleaning or scraping surfaces. e.g. formica counters, stove vents, tile, linoleum, glass . . .

This invaluable advice is provided free of charge as my contribution to humanity. :D

This was my guess too, or selling them blank on ebay.

The OP is the same guy that did the scamming with the $5 Sears coupon. Probably up to something shady again.

If you want bulk plastic to "make stuff". Why do you want gift cards? That's probably the hardest way to get plastic.

good catch!

Yes, something very unethical and shady is going on. As soon as I read the thread and not recognizing the name red flags started going off. Now the flags, sirens and ah-oooga ah-ooooga horns are sounding.

plastic cards in general make good guitar picks. One time a student left his student card, I never got a chance to return the card to him. I cut his card up into guitar picks, best picks ever.

If you mean college ID, then you're a dick. Most campuses have a student ID center, and the cards are clearly marked with instructions to return them there if found. DISCLAIMER: This post is null and void if you did not mean college ID.

If someone forgot their ID I'd probably be a little proactive about getting it back to them. What's yours?

Yeah considering to that college kids aren't the richest usually and last I checked they were not free to get a new one. Not to mention if on a Friday night you are ass-out until monday esp. if it was linked to your school money.
