Anyone know anything about those computer

I always hear stuff about those 6 or so computers sitting somewhere which control the internet. if those go down, like half the internet would go down. i hear the translate something but all i could think of was dns or wins or something. anyone know anything more?

Are you talking about the Root nameservers?

well, those computers are redundant....I think that if 1 goes down, the others (they are root servers) pick up the slack, also, if they go down, I believe DNS just stops, so http://forums.anandtech.com would not work but http://33.243.12.2.2 should still work.
