Anyone know anything about televisions

I have a 19 inch Zenith television that I've been using since 1991. The problem that has plagued it, has to do with skipping channels when switching channels on remote. It will go from 17, then 20, then 23-37, 40, and lastly 69. I have to use a VCR to get all the channels via remote. Even the cable guy was confused about it.

Sounds like you have it set to antenna and not cable. Gotta be a switch on the back or an option in the menu.
