Ok, i only have a dvd player in my computer system and would like to watch them on my big screen tv.
I have a tv-out feature but i hear the best way to go is to get a scan converter.
Now, i don't know a thing about scan converters and am hoping some of you experts out there can answer some questions i have.

first, whenever i do a search on scan converters on Egay, it returns a few that are going for around $50 that claim to be worth over a grand...are they worth buying?

secondly, do they need new drivers for xp? or will they just work fine withouth them?

Are they hard to operate? will i have to read extensively to learn how to work them?

all i wanna do is watch some dvds on my tv :}

Why don't you try using the TV-out you already have? That seems like it would be FREE.

NO scan converter for $50 on an auction site is worth $1000, don't be suckered by that.

They don't need drivers for any OS. The computer doesn't even know it's attached.

They are easy to use.

Good brands are TView Gold with the FS4000 chip or some AverKey models.
