It seems a little below average. Does it include li-polys, or NiMH batteries? LiPos weigh less and provide better battery life. Also, is the transmitter included, and will he balance the blades for you? (You want to have your heli looked over by competent flier to make sure it's in running order before trying to fly it.)

OK, it does have a 3-cell LiPo battery. I hear these are dangerous.?
It does have the radio.
About the blades, he says ", if you take the outer shell off you will see ways to tweak the blade postions. So I will say that the blades are balanced since I did get it to hover many times. "

Anyway, $150 was their asking price.

I paid about $200 OTD for a brand new one with extra battery, trainer (two sticks and 4 ping pong balls really) and a quick charger. They come with the radio. It's pretty much ready to fly right out of the box with a little setup (the extra battery and quick charger are obviously...well...extra though).

I'd see if he'd take $100 for it. Have you seen it fly? Does it look pretty smooth (as in, no bad vibrations when the rotors are spinning)?

No I haven't seen it fly, but if I go to buy, I definately will now. If it vibrates, is that fixable or should I not buy?
Is the charger it comes with too slow? And what is a trainer? Where did you buy yours and the extra charger/battery?
He said he paid $300, but did say they were $250 now, giving this site as 'proof'.

LOL. I will. He has already said (I asked about the "little metal rod on the back rotor that is missing"):

The back rod was lost, what happened was, I was trying to get it off the ground in my driveway and it was floating backwards slowely. Then, the concrete drive (being textured) grabbed the rod and it sprung off into the grass. I looked for it but could not find it. I did look it up online and its a $3 dollar piece on the hobby website i use. So it didn't snap cause of a hard landing or anything it just wasn't glued in all the way I guess and it made a spring action. The piece is needed though for take off on a flat surface."
And said he's only flown it a few times. 'course I'm sure everyone says that.

People in my family are really into RC stuff. Very experienced in planes. Two of them got helicopters and I've yet to see tham be able to fly (only wreck so far). They are difficult.

Google around, there is a free training proggie for flying them. I've never been able to keep one from crashing on the proggie.

It's pretty hard. It's kind of like balancing a marble on a plane of glass.
if it tilts one way, you have to push the controller the other way...when you push to hard and overcompensate...CRASH!
It's also pretty expensive too. You can pretty much guarantee that you break something everytime you crash.

The flight sim is a definite must have.
 
Hey Hammerhead, you asked me several questions that I answered. Just curious what you thought. Would you offer $100 too?

If you can get him to sell it to you for $100, I'd say go for it. But just a warning...don't expect to be doing any stable flying for a few weeks and certainly don't expect to do any aerobatics for a few months.
Also, expect it to be a huge money pit. For the first few weeks don't expect to do any proper landings. I can guarantee that most of your landings will be crash landings.
Crash landings = broken parts = money
 
Would it still break easily if crash landing on tall and/or thick grass?

I'm still wondering about the sim too. What do you do about a controller?

Well the thing about tall grass is that you can't really take off from it. You need a hard flat surface. When you fire up the heli, the natural tendancy is for it to rotate a little. It won't be able to rotate in tall grass so it'll just tip to the side then...BOOM! CRASH! There goes another set of blades that you'll have to replace.

Sims usually come with a cable that you connect from your computer directly into you controller.

I'm a bit confused. That place offers the program download for free, or the program and cable for $75 shipped, or just the cable for $23 shipped. What am I missing?

not sure. I got mine off of ebay with the cable for $40.
I'm pretty sure that the download doesn't include all the features.
 
All I know is that I have not flown my copter in 6+ months and its been fully overhauled cause of crashes 😛. Anyone want it?
