Hey guys, i was just wondering if anyone knew anything about precision power amps... a guy at work is gonna sell me his three older ones with all kinds of extras for $300.. i was just wondering if anyone competes and if they have heard anything about this company in general... the three amps are 2 X 50 , a 4 X 60, and a 2 X 100 and they are all gonna be briged into my 2 12inch Kenwood Subs and in a sealed enclsore with 4 gauge wiring, distrubtion blocks and a capicator.. i know these amps are older... just wondering if anyone used to run them in there cars.. THANKS

I used to have one, and they ROCK... They're definitely expensive amps and usually put out a lot more than what they're rated for. I'd be willing to buy one or two of them from you if you didn't need them - as I don't see how you could hook 3 amps up to 2 subs. The 100x2 would be enough to max out the Kenwoods easily...

I used to have one that was 300x2 RMS on 2 15" Kicker competition subs, that was a rockin' setup for sure.

PM me if you want to sell the others.

thanks for the quick reply! .... basically the three subs are gonna be "faceplated" together ( probally wrong term) too look like one giant amp.. i dont probaly need all three and will get back to you tomorrow when i pick up everything if you are interested... i know the whole set up is worth about 1500 with all the extras... hes just cuting me a good deal :) because the rest of the system was stolen expect for what was in the trunk.... thanks for input

Yeah, I know the one I had was about $1800 new, but was pretty old. That thing still rocked though...

I finally ended up frying it because I don't think it had very good ventilation where it was - and PPI said that I could ship it to them, and because it was out of warranty, they'd fix whatever was wrong with it or replace it....for a flat $100 fee. Pretty sweet considering how much that thing cost.

I'm especially interested in the 4 channel amp, so if you decide you don't need it, let me know.

Good luck with the setup, you won't be disappointed.

Their older Art series amps are great bargains and show up on *bay auctions all the time. They're stable down to 2ohms if you want to run subs in parallel.

If you're referring to the PC series which is the black amps, they're great. I have two, a PC275 (2x75) and a PC2150 (2x150). The links that connect them are like $50 so I never got one. If you want a Q-Bass controller for the PC2100 you have (I'm assuming), I'll sell you mine for $25. It's like $50 new. It controls the bass with a remote. I run the 2150 to my front three way speakers and have the 275 bridged for one 10" sub. These amps are awesome.

i have no idea what you think you're gonna do by "bridging" them into your two subs.. i don't see any way to connect all three to only two subs.. try to find out more info on what you are doing before you mess something up because for some reason i think you have no clue..

I dont think you need the wire all three amp to the two subs. just one of them will more then do trust me on this. Use the 4 channel amp top power a nice high end to get a good balance otherwise you will be all about bass and not have anice balance.

Damn, that is one LONG amp! haha.

Anyways, PPI ROCKS!

BTW- use only one of those amps with the 2 subs. Use the other (4-channel) with a nice component set and maybe add in some rear fill.

Looks like you got a pretty rockin deal.

[Edit]I didn't realize you had 3 amps. Dude, what are you going to do with all those. I really, really, really, don't think you need three or even two for the two subs.[/Edit]

No offense bubbadu, but it doesn't sound like you know what you are doing. Are you going to have help with the install? I can so see you frying the amps, and then fighting with the guy over the cash.

the install is nearly complete... new cd player is in.. just need to hook up the power wire to the battery and it will be rockin :) ... i am out of money so for right now i had to use straight 8 gauge wire... my question is this though.. is a 30 fuse enough for the inline fuse holder.. or should i get a 60 even though its 8 gauge not four?? .. thanks

whoa no need to freak out.. i just said that because the day my friend got his subs installed.. he barely turned them up and my crazy neighboor yelled from 4 houses down to "turn that f'ing sh*t" down because he was sleeping at 6:30pm... i guess you never had bad neigbhoors that threaten to call the cops if just by looking at their house..
