Is oral chelation effective at removing heavy metals and if so, which products are best?

I never heard of a chelation remedy being taken orally. As far as I know it must be administered under medical supervision. Too much of a chelating agent can be bad for you, one of the many reasons why chelation treatment takes a while.

I don't know for sure, but I spent the first 6 years of my work life as a synthetic chemist in a small scale chemical production area (22L lab). I was very, very careful, but I did handle organo-mercury compounds.

Who knows if I absorbed any mercury or other heavy metals.

well, go get some blood work done. Don't just take pills b/c you think you might have heavy metals. Chelation drugs that work are hard on the soft tissues such as kidneys, liver, brain.
