Is this a good dvd burner?

MadDog's are usually NEC drives, so assuming this is true for this drive, it's a great drive.

I have one. I haven't had any problems with it. I pretty much use my laptop all the time though, so I usually just use the dvd burner in the laptop. however, in the last year or so i haven't had any issues with the maddog, albeit with a small sample size
