Anyone know anything about Jazz violin?

I've been playing the violin for roughly 10 years and I've already been through most of the training that most conservatory players go through (Paganini, Rode, etc) so I feel that I have some decent technical ability. I'm getting a little tired of just playing classical music and I'd like to try some jazz violin. I really can't afford to take a class at the nearest conservatory (Peabody), and I haven't been able to find anything online to help me get started....

Can anyone help me out? I haven't the slighest clue on how to get started...

Wow, jazz violin... I guess a good place to start might be to listen to some jazz violin (though I personally have NEVER heard jazz violin despite being a jazz fan, WBGO member, etcetc.)
Check out the All Music Guide and punch in jazz violin? I'm thinking just understanding jazz itself will help you out... there's a lot of method for just that... shoot, some of the avante garde stuff I won't even pretend to understand.😕

Be sure to check out Stefan Grappelli. He was the best. Another I used to listen to is Jean Luc Ponty.

Yup I've finished those and getting a little tired with classical repetiore

anyone with any more info? I don't really know where to start
