Anyone know anything about farcry's development?

Either i just wasent up on games in 2004 or it just sort of got released and surprised everyone, but anyways i wanted to know if there was maybe a trigen or two they took out? Theres this huge one on the table in the "bunker" level with a massive freakin claw, thats a one hit kill claw for sure. Anyways it never came to life or attacked and theres no more in the rest of the game that i found, but i did see it in cutscenes! The one just before you get kicked out the chopper to the level where you have to fight like 10 fatboys with 10 bullets, the big claw thing was in the cutscene just before that which made me think that it mightve been in the game at some point.

Just curious if they had that thing in the game at one point? It looked very cool and deadly!

I remember that, it must have been one Trigen variant that couldn't be "stabilized" or something along those lines in the experiments to create them, maybe it wasn't a viable variant or it was too dangerous, or it just didn't live long enough... I don't know why it wasn't in the game except for one cutscene but there's many reasons for not including it, reasons that perhaps were never revealed, or maybe it just wasn't supposed to be in the game as an active enemy and was just put there as part of the story concerning Dr. Krieger's Trigen experiments at least.

Yeah, i thought there would be more things like that in the game though, the black guy even says "theres some weird stuff stored down there... stuff that wasent exactly safe" when you later get to the archives. The cloaked ones you find down there were cool and took me by surprise but i figured there would be more things, like maybe one of the big clawed ones or some other animals they messed around with.

I think it mighve been a gorilla initially, monkeys to gorillas to people sounds like a reasonable test hierarchy.
