Have a older Whirlpool thats served me well over the years. But for some reason a couple days ago I went to turn it on and it makes the normal pumping(or whatever that noise is) but then thats it. No water or anything is slinging around like normal. I don't put any dishes in it that has leftover food on it. So I don't think it's stopped up or anything but who knows?

BTW I tried adding some water in the dishwasher to see what it would do and it seemed to work fine for a few mins then once the water was pumped out same on noise but no water.

Is it a easy fix maybe?

My idea of loading the dishwasher is getting the wife drunk.

Sounds like something with the draining cycle. There is a website that has appliance repair instructions. If it's not too old, you can buy the extendend service contract, but they make you wait for a month or 2 before they come fix it.
