Alrighty, for xmas I got a new sirius sportster 4 receiver, and currently have a JVC h3100 headunit.
currently I have the receiver hooked up via fm transmition and it sounds lower then regular fm quality, so I'm not too impressed. Luckily enough, while not having a line-in input, my headunit supports an adapter to change a cd-changer input to a line input, which should help a ton.
so, two questions. as a novice at this stuff, how hard would it be to pull out the player, and plug this guy in? the adaters are just plug-in style, with the other end having either rca plugs, or headphone jacks on them. A local car audio place said they'd do it for $25.
secondly, THIS is what the official jvc adapter looks like, notice the converter box thing )or it could just be a ferret, it's hard to say. THESE can be found all over ebay for less then half the price, however, even multiple sellers specifically only show the ends of the cables. what the heck is that box and do I "need" it? Or can I save the $25?
Any help would be much appreciated!
