Brain tumor? Just type up "brain tumor" on Google, and you'll find a whole lot of relevant results. 😕 Google is your friend.

Or is this just an entrapment? :/

Edit: Ooops, I forgot to accommodate your spelling method. 😛

A member of my family had a brain cyst on her petuitary gland about eight years ago. removed via surgery and all is well now except for hormonal deficiencies which are cured by hormone therapy. i'd be happy to give you any information i can if it pertains...good luck!

Thanks. I'll drop you a line if I have any questions.

Thanks for everyone who contributed as well.

Type up ["brain tumor*" "cyst*"] on Google, and you'll see a whole bunch of relevant results. (Remove the brackets of course.)

Is this just for educational/research purposes?

unfortunately not 🙁

For even better results type up ["brain" "cysts"] on Google. I got the best results so far with that. (Remove brackets of course.)

Yes, I'm Miss Curiosity. 😛

Okay, here's a very good link I found: Brain Tumor and Diseases. Different types of brain cysts are listed and there are diagrams to help visualize. The site is generally an excellent site for learning about neurology and neurological illnesses, so feel free to navigate it.

P.S. I do know there's a difference between the two (i.e., tumor and cysts). I was just suggesting what would give you better results, since more often than not you'll find the word tumor and then some information about cysts attached than you would find cyst by itself.

My condolence. The above linked site has a forum for discussion and support in regards to neurological disorders. Many of the members or their family members are sufferers, so the forum is one to consider for support. Here's the old link: Old Forum. And here's the new forum: Current Forum.

When I was looking up information about brain tumors two years ago (exactly two years ago... tomorrow's a sad day for me 🙁 ), I had a hard time finding information. I found that if you knew which exact kind of tumor it was (or at least in this case), I got a lot more results. My searches all involved "geoblastoma multiforme" (sp? It's been a while).

Good luck!

Yeah, what he said! After reading more on this subject, it is indeed true that having knowledge of what specific type of cyst(s) and location of the cyst(s) really does help in finding more information. Do you know what specific cyst it is? Is it pineal gland brain cyst? Rathkes cyst? Colloid cyst? Ventrical cyst? Arachnoid cyst? Tarlov cyst? Is it located about the thalamus or pituitary gland? If the latter, it could cause hormonal imbalances as Konochiwa's relative experienced. Does the patient experience seizures?

I urge you to follow the forum linked earlier. You'll learn a whole lot, even from personal experiences of people who had to go through the same news. Here's a last link from Faces of Tumor. Again, personal experiences ... yes, with cysts too.

Well ... I know who this probably is ... using statistics and demographics. I'm so sorry.... 🙁 Please extend my well wishes to her. 🙂 May she stay strong and courageous!

Thanks to everyone for the links. I wont know exactly what the diagnosis is concerning the person with the cyst until professional medical evaluations are done. All I know at this point is that the lump is sizeable 🙁
