If you are pregnant I suggest you ask your physician. You will get a better answer from him/her, backed up by many years of education and experience, than you will get here from a bunch of pimple farmers.

That is what I thought, but I have an ex-GF that swears she is now taking some prescription vitamin, that does have more folic acid, but also has some other properties.

i would stay away fromt he prescription vits, too expensive and not worth it. U can come into any store and compare the two. IF the prescription beats the GNC or who ever vit. it won;t be by much and you will pay a ton more.plus most presctiption vits are hard on the stomach, cuz they just pack all the vits and minerals and don't care about the coating espcially for pregant women and people with senstive stomachs, it can cause i a lot of problems

They have more of the RDA than "regular" vitamins, the extra iron in them seems to be what causes the stomach upset. I had to pester my ex to take them, they really upset her stomach.

Are they for you or a pregnant woman?

A good multivit with antioxidants is great, but you can end up just making your urine more expensive as you excrete the extra water soluble stuff in your urine and you really don't want to build up too much of the fat soluble stuff in your body.

They are for neither; it was just a question.
FWIW, women need extra folic acid BEFORE they are pregnant; therefore, women of childbearing age should be taking a folic acid supplement.

They're called Prenatal vitamins...my wife "should" be taking it even though she's not pregnant...it's just good for the body
