Just wondering, because GPU's are actually cheaper in the US and Hong Kong.
I'm sure even after shipping it'd work out cheaper, and theres always ways to avoid taxes.

Anybody know any places?

Lets look for stock sites that ship to outside US/Canada then :p....

http://www.tigerdirect.com

Has a few in stock and looks like they ship Internationally but you'll need to ask them about shipping charges & tax.

An update for all UK people.

I just made the order with Tiger Direct. Two XFX 7900 GT's £365 shipped!! (would have gone with EVGA, but they dont have UK RMA services).
Even the cheapest in the UK is £416 (but they havent had any in stock and dont expect any for another week+). Average is £520. So ordering from the US has almost halfed my cost!

Now lets just hope I dont get stung with too many taxes.
By the way, it's a wire transfer only which costs £9. Then it's around 3-5 days for shipping.
So I should recieve the goods this time next week.

nib, I ordered an XFX 7900GTX from a UK site for £345 delivered. Just to be annoying :p. http://www.lowestonweb.com (weak product range, but the stuff they do have, tends to be CHEAP [although, oddly, x1900s are expensive there?!])

EDIT: They appear to have removed it now, as apparently demand outstripped supply, so they're only fulfilling existing orders.

Yea thats where I have my two 7900 GT's ordered. Only cost me £416 inc postage. They are the cheapest in the UK, but problem is I ordered last Friday and have yet to recieve anything. Plus according to their sales dep they may not get anymore in for another 2 weeks!! I cant wait that long. Theyve even taken them off their site.

In regards to the 7900 GTX, I would have gone with one, but even with this mighty card, its still not quite enough for butter smooth gameplay on games like COD2 and FEAR at higher resolutions.

Ah sorry, misread your post, I thought it was two 7900gtx's at £365 each.

I didn't think tigerdirect shipped to UK? Hmmm, I may well be cancelling the order with LOW then lol

Like I said, it works out at £301 inc delivery to the UK.
Bear in mind though that you can only pay via bank transfer, and thats an extra £9 fee.
Plus, tax and so on we'll have to wait and see.

I think you just get hit by the 17.5 VAT so it'll still work out cheaper than buying from the UK.

I'll have to see what happens regards LOW then. Would you mind keeping me posted on the extra costs you encountered over the initial $ amount? That'd be really appreciated! :)

Thanks

Well so far, 2 out of 3 orders I've recieved from US shops havent landed me any taxes at all. I'm hoping this will be the 3rd one to follow suit. Even if I do get taxed, I'm hoping it wont be too much, or end up costing more then LowestonWebs deal. But then again, I'm willing to pay a teeny premium to get it earlier.
Hope it all pans out.

If not, you live and learn I guess.

Just an update on my part:

Thank you for your email.

As you have placed an order, we are able to source stock to fulfill your order - a definite date cannot yet be confirmed, but we will advise as soon as we know.

We had not predicted such a huge demand for this item, and after receiving a large quantity of orders on 14/03, we decided to withdraw it as we were not certain how may items we would be able to source if any other orders were placed.

It has therefore been temporarily removed until we know more, but we do know that we can get a sufficient amount to cover the orders placed. Once stock of this is received shortly (hmmm I sense we have different definitions of shortly), your order will be despatched.

Apologies for any confusion.

Kind Regards,

Lowest on Web

D'ah well, so long as it gets here. :)
