Could be reynault's ??? phenomenon. My mother had it and I do to a lesser extent. Vessel constriction in the least bit of cold and certain positions (typing, reaching over head etc). I don't know there is a lot that you can do, my mother has a nitro glycerin paste that is supposed to help, but really it is just staying warm.

A nitro patch is going a bit far :p

Warm clothing, exercise, at the minimum you could talk to your doctor about it.

Exercise?

+1 for this.

I had this same problem even when I was 18 and and in the best shape of my life from exercising every day for football
Your hands and feet were cold when the rest of your body was sweating?

Er...no - that was more pointing out that I had this problem at a time in my life were I was well exercised and that more exercise probably wasn't going to help me.

Thanks for the info guys

Turn up the heater, that seems to work for me, if temp is at least 64+F then my hands don't freeze, otherwise my hands are always cold :p

EDIT: oh yeah, don't smoke.

I have crappy circulation as well - especially on the train where my feet go numb - unfortunately I already have Diabetes (type 1 though).

I do lots of exercise etc. but nothing seems to help. Ginseng usually is quite effective for people but these are the side effects on wiki:

Side effects

One of Panax ginseng's most common side-effects is the inability to sleep.[11] Other side-effects include nausea, diarrhea, euphoria, headaches, epistaxis, high blood pressure, low blood pressure, mastalgia, and excessive menstruation.[12]

Nice :)
