I'm taking a speech class this semester and our first real speech is the ambigious command "tell the class a story". I was wondering if anyone knows some good stories out there...I was hoping for something funny. They don't have to be long, only about 3-5 minutes.

Sadly, since it's a class, the stories have to be clean...which eliminates all the good stories I have. ;)
(The story can be a fable, a real-life thing, basically anything. Just as long as it is funny.)

i always liked reading/saying a favorite childrens story, personally. Especially if it is a story with different voices and the like. Try anything by shel silverstien. He has good children's stories but they have adult morals. My favorite is the Missing Piece. Is this for a college or HS class?

i hide in the corner shaking. praying that the sound i'm hearing is thunder...

...and not the beating of the heart that I had hidden under the floorboard. Thankfully...

The Raven is one of my favorites. It'd be tough to squeeze it into five minutes, though.

Look for a short story by Fredric Brown - wonderful short science fiction stories. If I had to do one, I'd use one of my favorites of his called "Sentry" :)

That story that's been posted here a couple times recently about the guy finding the cop writing a parking ticket (but it wasn't for his car) was funny and short.

I like that one...maybe if I just keep saying it I can meet the time requirement?

This is for college, by the way.
