Anyone know any good computer pranks I can unleash on my unsuspecting office buddy? I've already done the old switch the wallpaper and remove the mouse ball... anyone know anything else. Damn screensave password though makes it difficult to get in.

But please help my sanity depends on it.

Put his keyboard/mouse on a KVM & hide the box within easy reach. Every now & then switch it so he doesn't have control anymore. Better yet, rig it so with a flip of a switch you can control his PC.

This one requires quite a bit of resources but it's funny.

Take a wireless mouse and connect it to the first USB port and put the regular mouse either on the PS/2 or the second USB. Then put the reciever under the desk or somewhere your buddy can't find it. You can then control the mouse whenever you want! Funny but a lot of work.

Use this image as the wallpaper for the computer... and hide all the other icons by dropping them into folders or placing them beyond the edge of the screen.

His system will look COMPLETELY normal... but nothing will work it works like a charm.... even if the guy is computer savvy he'll think the machine is locked up, and reboot.... which won't solve anything

Does this person play solitiare often? use visual studios to open the sol.exe file, and you can re-assign the card #'s and pictures-so if the image of, say, an Ace of Spades is on screen the system considers it to be a 10 of diamonds, etc. (might work for freecell too, dont know)

Do you use MS Office there? I've pulled some GOOD pranks with autocorrect. Its easy to have it replace a word with something else.

Back in high school, there was a girl that I knew used the same PC as I did for one class, only I had it in the morning and she had it in the afternoon. I setup autocorrect in Word so every time she typed her name, it replaced it with C**T B***H. (We did not get along, and she had given my younger sister problems before). My buddy happened to be sitting in on that class, I guess the reaction on her face was priceless. He came up to me and asked if I had done something to the PC and explained it, I couldn't hardly restrain myself.

It's fairly easy to add stuff, and the non-tech savvy wouldn't know how to fix it. I personally would change it so every time he typed the word "internet" it replaced it with "I know what you did last night." It doesn't have to be "internet" just something you know he'll type at least once in the day. A common word like "the" already has its own autocorrect setting, so I wouldnt do that.

Put a shortcut to every program he has on the machine in his Startup folder.

We did that once to a buddy at a LAN party... I think it took 3 hours to get his box online so he could shut everything down.

It really depends on how computer savvy the person is as to just how far you can go.

Here's another fun one to do. Engage someone in a discussion about something they like (to use MPCs examples, The Simpsons and pie). Then promise to bring them some files pertaining to those items. Now, when they're logged in and away from their computer, get to a DOS prompt, and CD to "\WINDOWS\DESKTOP" or "\Documents and Settings\All Users\Desktop" (if they're using Windows 2000). Now, do a:
MKDIR Simpsons and pie
Except, where the spaces are between Simpsons and pie, hold down ALT and press 255 (on the numeric keypad, not the number row above the regular keys).
Now watch the fun begin as they try to get into the folder!

put a program called deepthroat on his computer....it's a great program.

You can:
invert the two mouse buttons
turn off the monitor
pull up websites
open the cd drive
restart the computer

and you can do all of this from your computer if he's on the same LAN or if your both on the internet. Me and some of my buddies had hours of fun doing this at high school.

If you want to be mean, here are a few lame ideas (these are just off the top of my head).

- If you can, underclock their PC to the lowest possible clock speed. Imagine them booting up to find they have a &quot;Athlon 300Mhz&quot; (4.5 x 66), instead of their 1GHz machine.

- To add to the last one, you could also change the amount of memory windows recognizes to the lowest setting possible. I think this is possible, correct me if I'm wrong.

- I liked that idea Urinal Mint (lol, funny name) had about putting a shortcut to every program in the start up folder.

- Record something obscene and map it to the sound that plays when windows boots up

- For the &quot;Links&quot; bar in IE, bookmark a bunch of porn sites

look for a remote control program. install the server end on his, and client on yours ( or maybe vice versa, i forget) then you can go on your computer, control his mouse, open his programs, delete his files,maybe send his internet explorer to a nasty site...

or just search for compurer remote acces, or ssomthing like that.
