I have the movie 'Bring it on', put it into my computer's DVD player, and it loaded dvd software that works for any DVD I put in! It even plays any-region CD! (I don't know if it's the software or drive that I have that allows this though...)

WinDVD is another widely available software dvd player. Also, if you bought a video card recently, it will probably come with DVD player.
