I have a relative who has an authentic Buddy Holly record that was never available for sale. It was when he was with a different record label then the one he eventually singed with when he became famous. The record is in pretty good condition. Wondering if anyone has an idea what it would be worth? Contact a record shop or antique dealer to find out? Thanks!!!!

I just did a quick Google search of "vinyl appraisal" and came up with a ton of results. You should do the same and contact them with all of the specific record information (Name, Date, Label, Condition, etc..) and try to get quotes from as many as you can. Proceed to sell to the highest bidder.

That should be worth a BOATLOAD of money.

You can call an appraiser that specializes in this. I'd recommend not selling it as it will only become more valuable with age.

Antique roadshow ? It could definitely be interesting and it will attract potential buyers.

If you have all the information from the record you can search on popsike.com to see if there are any prior auction results.

using kranky's link, the highest value for a buddy holly is 1000 british pounds, that is what, over $2000? and if your's was a demo/unique, then it just goes up up up
