It's not very highly technical. What is there to know? Remove any fan(s), battery, ground yourself while handling it. Put it in detergent/alcohol solution. Usually hot detergent is enough, no alcohol needed.
Basically even if a liquid itself isn't corrosive, there is still water soluble flux residue that remains and as the liquid dries to an ever smaller droplet the acidic flux becomes more and more concentrated leaching away metal to form conductive shorts.
Keep in mind I don't use an ultrasonic cleaner. I use soaking, a toothbrush, and a turkey baster for flushing under chips. I don't bother with distilled water, plain old hot tap water then a rise after the detergent bath and a few gentle shakes to get any water out under chips. Rinsing with alcohol/water solution would mostly eliminate the shaking.
