Will my 7800GT work with it? Is it even worth using? I want to be able to play a game on one monitor and possibly watch a movie on the other. Maybe a movie on one and browsing on the other.

just use the features on the nvidia driver

i assume that you're talking about dual view or clone view

dual view will let you watch movies on one monitor and browsing on another monitor

as for gaming on one and movies on another....you can probably do it but either way....you'll lose performance in games if you use cual view or clone view

Well, I was thinking: If I use video out on the motherboard and out to the monitor from the graphics card, I wouldn't get that much, if any, of a hit on the performance of gaming + movie. Am I wrong in this thinking?

correct me if i'm wrong (not sure)

don't you only get to choose one graphics display?

you either use your video card or use the integrated features? (i assume that's what you meant --- integrated graphics display)

With this feature, its suppose to allow both to be used. I'm just wondering, since one is ati and the other is Nvidia, will it work :)

after doing some research on surroundview

it does work with games but only flight simulator is supported

if you run other games........only the primary monitor would display the game while others display the desktop (mouse wouldn't be able to move)

and the killer is: only ati videocard works with surroundview :(

i dont think you mean surround view which is a matrox only feature, l;etting you use 3 monitors on 1 video card to play a game spanning all 3 monitors. You migh mean multitasking with 2 monitors which is a bad idea.
1.) most motherboard integrated video will shut itself down if a seperate card is inserted.
2.) watching movies is cpu intensive so say you are playing a game and watching a movie, that's 2 tasks at once. If you dont go dualcore, you'll have to go amd64(for gaming) or intel pentium 4 ht(for multitasking) which means that either 1 or both will suffer from competition in resources. Goning AMD route will cause slowdowns in gaming and possibly dropped frames in the video. Going Pentium 4 HT wil cause lower average fps anyway in gaming but probably decently smooth video. AMD dualcore will solve all your problems but that comes at a price.

"Surround View" is also ATI's 3 display solution. The Xpress200 IGP does support additional graphics without disabling, as do the new Nvidia IGP chipsets (I'm not real familiar with their features however, but you might look at it for your Nvidia card)

The IGP in surround view does have limited resolution support as compared to using the IGP as the Primary display. I use mine connected to a 17" analog LCD for web browsing Primarily, with my X1800XL driving my 22" CRT gaming display and MCE on my RPTV using the X1800XL's YPbPr output.

If you are only connecting 2 displays, the secondary display on the graphics card will be superior to the IGP in most every way, but for 3 displays, its a nice usable feature. The MSI RS480 boards don't have overclocking features however, so mine is holding me over for a decent Crossfire Motherboard. Its a solid stable platform, so its a good general purpose board, but not geared towad the overclocking gaming enthusiast.
