I'm breaking my back trying to get some one inch hose off of barbed fitting s on my car. Anyone have an easy quick trick to getting 'em off? Driving me nuts.
Take a pair of channel locks, put around the hose and use them to move the hose back and forth to break it loose.
If it's brittle enough where it won't flex around the barbs, I would suggest cutting it off and replacing it. How expensive is it?If its brittle to where it will turn but not get past the barbs, the best solution is heat, either a heat gun or hair dryer to soften the rubber as was earlier suggested. It will slip right off then.
I would just replace it. That hose in the photo and the clamp are not factory OEM parts. It has been replaced before and it is not costly to replace it again.
