Anyone know a good program to make forums with

Looking to make a site
I was looking for a site to make it OR a program, thus I put it into offtopic

Does anyone know a program/site (that costs little or is preferably, free) that lets me make a pretty good forum?

you need a site with a database
almost any site you get will have a control panel, it will have a GUI/point click way to setup a forum

Assuming you have apache with php mod, then you can write pretty much anything and everything in any text editor.
I recommend vi or vim.

Im looking at invisionfree, but problem is that you cant save your data

The layout for making the site is very friendly, but I cant seem to find any other program that is as powerful and as easy to use as this

eh, stay away from phpbb. i admined a phpbb forum and i was constantly patching the software and worried about being hacked.

try SMF.
