Sharkeeper:
NIce site! Thanks!

I was also thinking about trying to find material to build my own cage. It might be cheaper but I'm not exactly sure. Where might I find the right materials? HomeDepot? THanks.

THanks for your help all! I was actually able to get a 30% discount from Petopia.com(petsmart), so I piled up my shopping cart. I think I saved almost $60! If you're interested in the 30% off at petopia.com, you should know where to look by now.

You're familiar with the typical gerbil maze made of tubes and plastic boxes? Well, you can make a "ferret maze" using 4" plastic pipe sections and connect typical wire cages in all the corners of your room.
Some people might think that was cool.
Personally I'd reccommend the garage since I don't think you can get rid of the smell no matter what you do.

if youv'e got the time and are handy enough you should consider building your own. i have two rats and a guinnea pig living in an 5'x5' enclousure that i built in my basement. it was a load of fun for me and ther animals love it. all told i think i spent $50.00 in matierials (ply wood and screws) so it can be cost effective too.
