Anyone is using Adaptec ATA RAID 2400A here ?

RAID 5 and Performance don't work together in the same sentence. The only purpose to use RAID 5 is for a server where you want the most space and have fault tolerance. Whether the adapter is SCSI or ATA based, the performance of the RAID 5 array is not very good (especially with writes). If you're looking for RAID 0 type performance, forget it!

Last year I was using a 6 drives (6*60G) raid5 (WS2KAS) but the write performance simply sucked!
