Just dusted off my Assocated RC10 Team car and my Tamiya Astute and was thinking of hitting the local track for practice night (I actually live within 30mi of a track now) but I was wondering how outdated I will be, as I have been reading a few forums and it seems like my cars are "vintage" not to mention my 1400 SCR battery packs, old charger, radio equip and everything else.

Anyone else here into RC currently and willing to give an old dog some pointers...it has been over 8 years since I have been into this hobby I think.

Thanks.

I'm into it, but I don't race em yet, I'm still a parking lot racer.

<== runs a Tamiya TAO4 Ferrari 360 modena with a 12 turn motor. I'm waiting to upgrade my batteries to 3000mah nimns and a new charger.

You might be a little behind. I sold my Associated B3 about 3 years ago. You might still be able to keep up though.

About 14 years ago I bought a 4 wheel drive coupe car called an Optima. I got a Le Mans 360 Gold motor for it and it had, correct me if I am horribly off, a 22,000 RPM motor. I also bought a Novak electronic speed control for it. It sucked that I lost reverse. When that thing would launch it would sink down a little and then be out of site in just a few seconds. I would have it sit still on my residential street and let a car pass and then pass the car up. :) Sadly, I ran it into a telphone pole when it got too far out of range down the street one day going full speed. :(

I never fixed it.

Darn it, now your making me want to get one again as there are many open school parking lots near where I live now. ;)

I've got a Traxxas Nitro 4-Tec, Tamiya TA-03 FF Alfa, TA-02 (don't run it anymore), Origial Tamiya Wild Willy. That's it for hobby ones. I also have a few Tomy Bit Char-G(Hot Wheels size), a Tyco Typhoon, Tyco Fast Traxx, and a Tyco Canned Heat (1/18 approx) S2000.

I think I have a problem.

If you ever want to get rid of your Astute, I'd be happy to work out a deal for it.

Hey guys and thanks for all the replies...never knew that many were into RC.

Back when I was really into it I had....

1 RC 10 Team Car
1 Tamiya Astute
1 Tamiya Grasshopper later converted to a hornet
1 Tamiya Lunchbox
3 Mini Tamiya 1/24th scale cars

My brother had a Fox and a few of those mini's as well.

it is a fun hobby.
