Do you have a Frys around you? They carry some systems.
The store the pros go to is called ADI, I used to work in security systems for large businesses and government agencies a few years ago for 2 years. But these were crazy multi-million dollar security systems and I was dealing with the technical aspects of them (servers, IP camera's, switching, fiber, etc) more than the actual installing.
But if you can find an ADI around you, they'll usually sell to the public but not for as cheap as someone that has a tax ID.
