Aquaponics is a melding of Aquaculture & Hydroponics........ so you raise fish for consumption or sale and the waste product from the fish goes into growing veggies

Well......... the waste that is in the water is pumped throw a hydropnic system were the plants absorb the nutrients and clean the water which is recirculated back to the fish.

My dad uses the water in the coy pond to water the veggie plants. The plants aren't grow in hydroponics and the fishies are just for aesthetics, but the veggies sure as hell look as if they were on growth hormones
