Yes, if you can learn stuff really fast, that would make you interesting.
I already am.

While I applaud the thought process, I think it falls apart when the user's muscle tone and twitch memory patterns fail to follow through on what the brain 'wants' it to do.
Think of it like this - my brain can tell me how to do a close approximation of a Chuck Norris roundhouse kick, but I may just pull a hammy in trying to execute it.

Sounds good, until you read the part where essentially those kind of techniques could allow people to hijack your brain.

No thanks.

If something like this happens I would literally try to have every book read first. All of them.

Maybe hold the weird asian porn crap and teen magazines..

Wonder how much the brain would take before becoming mush.

More than you could possibly imagine.

The more I know the more I realize I don't. ;)

As far as hacking goes that's easy, just think INSIDE the box! ;)

While it'd be useful, in the wrong hands it could be devastating. For example, terrorists teaching chemistry using such a tool. I'd say only high level US Security should be able to use it.

My fear with these sorts of things is the absolutely massive class divide it would help to create. Would it have awesome applications for people in need? Rehab applications? Sure. In the hands of our current culture, though, yikes .. charge top dollar for it, and the rich get richer.

I have to admit that the article does make Snow Crash a lot more scary and feasible-sounding than I ever thought it would be.

I think the research would be very interesting. Would someone with a significantly lower IQ be able to learn the same things, and/or at the same rate as someone with a higher IQ?

And the OP's title should be "really faster!" I'm pretty sure she already learns really fast. :)
