No bearings just magnets?

I saw them on Amazon for $28 for a single LED or $35 for two non-LED.

Yes, you can get a four-pack for $15 but I've these cheaper ones burn out more frequently (made cheaper now?) with a lifespan of about 4 years. Since these are 120mm, does it make sense to pay essentially double for these? Would I get 8 years of life on these?

Intake/exhaust for the case. I've put together a cheesecloth frame that acts as a dust filter so some noise will be muffled by the cloth. Noise is not an issue with me because these systems are isolated, not out on the floor.

I have not purchased them but was interested in knowing the thoughts of the group. I was looking at long term viability as the main consideration over costs.

Gotcha.

Most good quality ball bearing (and above like fluid) fans should last a long time. Even the lowly sleeve-bearing fan will give you years and years of use.

That Corsair fan has a 5 year warranty, so they are very confident that most will last longer than 5 years. Corsair is very good on their warranty claims, so no need to worry about for a while. And since they are a newer tech fan, there just isn't going to be a track record on reliability for several years.

I saw someone post a build on another forum with 9 of them installed. 3+3 push/pull on the radiator, 1 exhaust, 2 front intake. He spent $208 on fans.

They look nice, and according to him they're decently quiet with good airflow. But I can't swallow that price tag for the somewhat lackluster performance figures.

Both the ML 120 & 140 versions have been well tested at ThermalBench

ML140mm review: http://thermalbench.com/2016/07/29/corsair-ml140-pro-140-mm-fan/
tltr: Decent, but over-priced

ML120 review: http://thermalbench.com/2016/07/12/corsair-ml120-pro-120-mm-fan/
tltr: very good, but over-priced.

Finally, a decent fan series from Corsair. Altho there's some user reports on OCN with QA issues - maglev isn't levitating enough resulting in annoying squeals.

Will pickup a few after the early adopters price-gouging frenzy is over to compare to my GTs.

i can tell you right now, you will end up hugging your GT's and refuse to replace them with anything else unless u go 38mm. :whiste:

Nidec made one hell of a fan, and to this date, i have yet to see fans which have blades balanced like the nidec's.

Corsair Fans don't last much more then 2 years -They're JUNK.

What a blanket statement about a fan that has barely hit the market, I have corsairs that are running on ?3? years, now, boy I better go buy some more fans cause these are going to fail any minute?
